Makei died in office on 26 November 2022, at the age of 64.[12] Makei was not known to have had a chronic illness, and Belarusian authorities did not state his cause of death.[13][14][15] According to Nasha Niva he died of a heart attack.[16] He was given a state funeral on 29 November 2022 which was attended by Lukashenko in the Central House of Officers; he was buried in Minsk's Eastern Cemetery.[17]

Toinen vaihtoehto oli että mies tapettiin varoituksena Lukashenkolle ja muille. Toki kuolemaan ei välttämättä liity suurempaa salaliittoa, ihmisiä kuolee sydänkohtaukseen joka päivä. Vaikka JR2 tuore kirjoitus kuolemaa seuranneesta tutkinnasta pitäisikin paikkansa, niin sekin voi kertoa vain että Lukashenko on vainoharhainen kaiken ympärillään tapahtuvan osalta (vaikka Makein kuolema olisikin sydänkohtaus ilman muita "vaikuttumia").

Onko tämä tulkattavissa siten että venäjä aktiivisesti miinoittaa omaa maaperäänsä jalkaväkimiinoilla? Ihan hirveästi huonompaa siirtoa en keksi kun kylvää jalkaväkimiinoja omaan maastoon, niin kauas rajoista ettei ulkopuoliset/siviilit voi mitenkään odottaa tuollaista.
Myanmar on ainoa esimerkki viimeisiltä vuosikymmeniltä joka tuosta toiminnasta tulee mieleen, eli aika rajattuun kerhoon tuolla toiminnalla pääsee.
