RSChS: Internet access may be restricted in Moscow due to security measures
The RSChS service sent out messages to residents and visitors of Moscow warning about restrictions on Internet access. This is due to the preparation and holding of events dedicated to the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
“Restrictions on Internet access are possible due to ensuring the safety of the ongoing festive events,” the messages say.
Against the backdrop of these warnings, today, May 5, mass failures were recorded in the capital and the Moscow region for mobile operators — Beeline, Tele2, MegaFon, MTS, Yota and Rostelecom. The majority of complaints came from Moscow, their peak occurred in the morning. The operators’ press services clarified that the failures were not related to their internal malfunctions, but were caused by external circumstances. In addition, there were problems with the operation of the Telegram and WhatsApp messengers, which coincided with the rehearsal of the Victory Parade.
The Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs confirmed the strengthening of control over Moscow's airspace and the active fight against the unauthorized use of unmanned aerial vehicles - drones, quadcopters and aircraft models.
